The 24th July 2007 was the 75th Anniversary
of the formation of Southport Cycling Club.

meet in their clubroom in Victoria Park, Rotten Row (by the entrance opposite Beach Road) every Monday evening at 8:00 pm. New member and vistors are welcome to attend the informal gathering.
To find the location of the club room the postode PR8 is 2BZ.
The weekend clubruns will depart as usual from the Plough bus stop, Preston New Road. The
Saturday Sociable run leaves at 9.30hrs. and is suitable for beginners. The Sunday run leaves at 9:00hrs. and is for harder riders typically covering 80 miles, with one cafe stop.
The weekday runs also depart from the Plough bus stop; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 9.30hrs . The Saturday and weekday runs are covered at a more comfortable pace, so if
you're new to cycling these runs are the way to start. The Saturday morning club run of about 30 miles leaves the bustop on Preston New Road, near the
Plough Hotel roundabout at 9:30; pedalling through Banks village to Tarleton at a lesuirely pace, and through the quite back roads to Croston village and on to the cafe stop at the Fettler's Warfe
near Rufford for a brew. The return route over the moss arrives back in Southport by about mid day. Anyone with a road worthy bike is welcome to join in.
For more adventurous cyclist the Tuesday run leave the same bustop at 9:30 for a ride to Scorton, Chipping or Rivington. The round trip is about 50 miles and includes a stop for coffee.
Sunday club runs leave the bus stop at 9:00. with a higher tempo. See the reports on the "Club Runs" page. Club nights

held on 26th April at Victoria Park Southport are now on this site. If you have any digital photographs of the races and/or

Southport Cycling Club are hosting the
North West School Peoples Area Championships on 26th April at Victoria Park Southport.
The first race starts at noon. There will be no entries taken on the line. A list of riders etc. is on a page on this site NW Area Champs.
At approx. 3:00 pm on the same day there will be a one lap race around the park for members of SouthportCC with the first prize of the SouthportCC Centenary Shield and £50; second prize is £30 and £20 for third.
