Riders from
SouthportCC hired the Manchester Velodrome for an evening of track riding. Assisted by a British Cycling Team coach the
rides spent the 2 hour session learning the techniques of riding the 250m track before a 12 lap race for the SouthortCC Track Trophy. Some of the party had never ridden a fixed wheel bike before, and the 42 degree
banking of the track can be a bit off-putting. Karl Turner won the scratch race, with Allan Taylor, Lennie Collins and John Fewtrell in hot pursuit. |
