(remember, it was all fields in those days)

Retired hardrider from Crossens is complaining about the dinner stop on the proposed ride into North Wales When Men where men it was out to Ruthin back over the horseshoe into Llangollen for Lunch then Wrexham Chester and into the Liverpool clubs Road Race back to the boat Top side of 200k i think but they where miles then and we where always back in time to go to the pub after

It seems to me that if you weren't there "back in the day" you can never truly be a hardrider. This Ride Round the Year bollocks. We had done twelve 200k rides by the end of March. And twelve 130km rides on the Saturday as well. And never forget one black Feb night we got from Ormskirk lights to Kew bridge in 12 minutes with 120 miles in our legs.
These New Boys do there best but Heh, what do they know?

The retired Hardrider is still not happy about the dinner stop I have just googled the round trip to Llangollen its 149 m If you would like to go on the softies route its southport -Queensferry- Ewloe- Penyfordd -Treuddyn (social section dinner stop) Llandegla- Down to Llangollen Wrexham Chester and home

Where was it in the Lake district that Plod said "I'm not going another yard further"?
Of course we were softies compared with the earlier generation who did Keswick and the Vale of St John!
Though nothing like as mard as Ginty's era.

Pity they can't remember where the bus stop is at 9:00 on a Sunday morning !
