Bill Bradley Ride

For the past few years Southport Cycling Club have organised rides in memory of Bill Bradley, with proceeds and donations going to support the Macmillan Nurses Appeal.

Bills cycling career spanned many years, with the highlights being the mid 50s to mid 60s,a period in which he represented Great Britain at home and abroad, the peak years being 59/60 when he won the Tour of Britain on both occasions.

After retiring from racing Bill continued to enjoy his cycling, helping to run the club and just riding his bike socially with family and friends.

The rides start and finish at UCLAN (Preston) Arena and cover many of the routes Bill used, from the quiet Fylde lanes to the fells and climbs of the scenic Forest of Bowland.

We would like to thank Cycling Development North West [CDNW] and Phil Melville [Argyle Financial Services] for their continuing support and help in promoting the rides.
